Prof. Azubuike Kanario Onyebuchi is currently the Medical Director at the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia. Before his appointment, he was a senior lecturer in the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki. He was also a consultant special grade I at the Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, where he served as a one-time chairman, medical advisory committee. He was elevated to the rank of a Professor of obstetrics and gynaecology at the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State in April 2021.
He is a fellow of the West African College of Surgeons and a fellow of the International College of Surgeons. He is a member of the body of examiners of the West African College of Surgeons, faculty of obstetrics and gynaecology whose responsibilities include certifying doctors to be specialists in obstetrics and gynaecology. He is currently the assistant secretary general of the Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of Nigeria (SOGON).
He has published over 51 journal articles in reputable international and local journals. Prof. A.K. Onyebuchi is an associate editor in the journal of Basic and Clinical Reproductive Sciences.
